Best Dressed at the MET 2012:
1) Lana Del Ray in Joseph Altuzarra- if ever there was a caped damsel i adore it’s little Lana!!! this look oozes medieval temptress…
2) Chanel Iman in Tom Ford- i mean it’s tom ford & there are two things he does well, dress & dress others. & it’s even easier if the model is Chanel!!
3) Amber Heard in Zac Posen- gaahh i love a Zac Posen dress. girly whimsical bliss!!!
4) China Chow in Jean Paul Gaultier- just a tad bit of drama at the top & a layered flair bottom. a bold choice on a perfect frame.
5) Isabel Lucas in Proenza Schouler- we’re all being served a slice of Isabel’s “rock ala mode” & we won’t worry about the calorie intake!! P.S. this would be ranked higher if only it were another event. the MET GALA is THE time to adorn oneself in jewels & haute couture ballroom gowns but i love the look all the same.

My best dressed for the MET ball: The only reason I don’t love the divinity that is 5) Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuiller is the choice of footwear. I’ve never been a fan of Satin esp not in this bridal-esque hue. Would have opted for contrasting color, black, or nude. 4) Emma Stone in Lanvin a cutesy fresh take on the floral trend of Spring, with a bit of maturity. Have always loved crimson on a paler skin tone. The fit of this dress on 3) Rihanna in Tom Ford is beyond immaculate. The silhouette is perfection and the texture just gives it what we need. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 2) Solange Knowles in Rachel Roy was simply a breath of fresh air. The lemony, peplum-y goodness is such an understated sexy that I thoroughly enjoyed on the beautiful young songstress. And my top pick goes to 1)Scarlet Johansson in Dolce and Gabanna. The neutral color paired with a lil bit of sparkle, tousled locks, little cleavage, little girly tulle…is just everything. May be biased, but Scarjo’s womanly figure is exactly what that dress needed.
IMO and with love,
Kimly
